About Us

We adopted our Alaskan Malamute via an advert on the web after his owner decided when he was six months old that they were no longer able to keep him. Cindy had previously owned Malamutes and was longing to own one again, and for Elwyn, who had no experience with the breed, it was love at first sight. We were waiting for our new home to be finished when we first saw Charlie, and begged the previous owner to hold onto him until we could move into our house. The day after we moved in, the fence went up and Elwyn made the three hour drive to pick up our boy.

We love our Northern Breed dogs but at the moment are unable to establish a dedicated rescue group for the breed. One day we hope that this can be achieved. This site is a personal site which has been set up by us as we genuinely love Northern Breed dogs and wanted to establish a resource dedicated to assisting rescuers in getting their foster dogs advertised.

Please consider choosing a dog from rescue. These lovely guys have often had a rough life, and may have been mistreated, and deserve a second chance. Thank you for taking the time to visit our site and we hope that you are able to share your life with one of these magnificent dogs

Regards,

Cindy and Elwyn

Ms and Mr Winterpaws.
